i love this Pt. II

For today's class, i will be continuing my historic reference to noise.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I AM NOT TRANSFORMING THIS TO A MUSIC-ONLY BLOG
i have just been in the happiest of moods lately to unearth this kind of stuff. hope you hate it!

Hard Drugs

Converge, take a dog with rabies and put a mic in front of it, then give an octopus with panic attacks a drum kit and give Kurt Ballou a guitar. NOTE: i've met them, they are true gentlemen in their ordinary lives!
Result:

The Secret, anti-italian Italians that are obsessed with graves, swarms, mass murders and basically any band that prints black and white t shirts with upside-down crosses. Met them too, they act more strange than the guys from Converge!
Result:

Very Hard Drugs

Discordance Axis, short lived experimental progressive blackened noisegrind band from NJ. Rumor has it they probably were an alien music project on earth, to test the limits of human hearing tolerance. They succeeded.
Result:

The Dillinger Escape Plan, probably the strongest, most talented band, with the most insane and intense live shows on this solar system. Say a regular pop song has a tempo of 120 bpm and scales from 4/4 and 6/8. TDEP can throw 5 different tempos ranging from 100 to 280 and insane polyrhythms from 3/4 up to 5/8, all that in one song. Did i mention that the drummer plays in a totally different sequence?

Long Lasting Experimental Drugs

Sunn O))), satanic themed drone doom duo. To tell the truth, these guys either smoke weird things all day every day and play around with their gear, thus creating high-rated masterpieces that will be totally understood decades/centuries after OR they are the scum of the earth, wasting their time producing useless guitar/amp noise effects, gathering large masses of believers at their shows. I feel sick.
Result:

Boris, are one of the most kickass Japanese bands that have never ever copied western world bands (entirely). They are also one of the most diverse artists around, one moment sounding like Sunn O))), and then playing fast paced Jap N' Roll. Wow. 3 members. Female guitar player. Crazy hair. 70s Psychedelia. 10-60 min tracks.

i love this

As far as i can remember, i always loved loud and disturbing noise, for example, when i was around 6 i had a passion for observing bulldozers and excavators do their work. Later on, when i got more into science and the world in general, i really enjoyed hearing and watching building demolitions and bomb explosions!

Today, im re-discovering all those childhood memories in extreme music

10 SONGS, 13.52 MINUTES, WAKING UP IN THE MORNING TO THIS: PRICELESS

Deathwish has a deathwish

As most blogs do(?) in the beginning of every new year, I have also been absent from my diary of dissent for a good amount of time. I guess the more you leave it, the more it leaves you, unless there is TRUE LOVE!
i started college (not backing up this time), don't ask why, these things just happen, and its better not to question them. Job: I have been working as a seasonal for the past month, yes, i do shovel snow pretty damn well, it runs in my blood i think! Also been exploring the depths of lowlife poet's souls, drinking a carton of orange juice a day.

I have also come up with some pretty nice blogging topics in the past 25 days! Some include: social behavior of the American youth, American football, what i do not miss from Greece, some reviews and insight on albums/novels.

For today, i wont be spending much time bluffing around.

There are plenty of record labels. There are also plenty of hardcore/punk labels.
In 2011, hardcore is considered "dead" and that is the way it is. It's not 1980 nor 1992. So many medium-skilled bands are touring around, producing worthless records that are repeating themselves and thinking that they are RE-doing/RE-inventing the genre. I live hardcore, i cry thinking about it in the night, i punch glass and bleed my hands in my converge t shirt when i listen to piece of shit that comes from Facedown, Rise, 30daysofnight, Trustkill, Ferret, Victory, Equal Vision and lately from Metalblade and Epitaph. Fuck that!
hardcore will never die, but you will!

That's why these guys right here are still keeping it alive and real:

Deathwish Inc.

Dischord

Bridge 9

Resist

Translation Loss

Temporary Residence Ltd.

Alternative Tentacles

Hydra Head Industries

Lightning strikes once

I was browsing inside an h&m store and when i came across this colorful item, the first thing that came in mind was the artwork of Lightning Bolt's "Beautiful Rainbow". It felt extremely cool so i just bought it. Then, a real lightning bolt struck the cashier and gave me back some of my money (totally unexpected but always welcome!)

For those who don't know, Lightning Bolt is a noise rock/drum and bass (see early work of Big Business, not the electronic genre) band from rhode island, formed sometime in the 90s in rhode island, with five studio albums out, more than intense live shows and even more intense drumming!

they are also known for their AMAZING album covers
